Tell us about yourself

I have been immersed in exploring the human condition for as long as I can remember. I'm motivated by the feedback from our community (lives are changing!) as well as my own adventurous spirit. I like to say that I'm driven equally by grit and the wind.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My greatest accomplishment as a business owner (so far!) is being able to do something that I love every day, that feels like self-actualization rather than work, and which benefits all who come in contact with it.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

I find the most challenging aspect of this work to be the intrinsic motivation that's required, especially in the face of perpetual change, constant challenge, and in many cases, no guide to follow. Thankfully, loving what I do makes that motivation feel fairly unshakable, but I often marvel at the amount of endurance and flexibility that is necessary. I suppose it takes a certain kind of human to enjoy the process!

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Just do it: Get experience doing what you think you want to do as soon as possible. It's always different than it looks.

  2. Consider the business of running a business, which may be quite separate from the business of doing your passion all day long.

  3. Consider it a marriage: If that feels right, great! If it freaks you out, explore why.
